My Toothbrush Killed an Albatross?! is about awakening to the magic of the world around you.
Playwright Dana Boll came up with the idea for the musical while on a Transatlantic flight, after seeing an in-flight video about the plight of albatrosses in Midway Island. “There was a toothbrush in the abdomen of one of the carcasses of the birds. That image stayed with me. It made me think about plastic differently. And I was so curious about what I saw, whether it was true… that I started to write a story about it. And then I applied to volunteer to go to Midway and work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for their annual albatross census.”
